Weigt Loss 2007

I'll be trying an Atkins approach to dieting, mainly because it is fairly easy to follow. I'll be reporting on what I find here. Atkins has an interesting new focus on active people. and rival the famed metabolic diet in terms of community.

Bud GibsonIn this podcast (click to see Quicktime ipod compatible, 17MB; click to see Google streaming flash video), I briefly outline my new plans to lose about 15 lbs. My decision is to go with the Atkins diet because it's fairly easy to implement. Further they've made a lot of progress since I first tried it in 2003 (I say I was 42 in the video; that was my age in summer 2003). They now have something called Atkins Learning Center, and it has a course on high protein diets for people who work out a lot, similar to stuff I've read in a lot of other places.

Troy Garver makes a cameo appearance at the end of the video. I'll be using him as a sounding board. He's produced some interesting insights in the past and has agreed to contribute to this series.

Hi Bud,

Best of luck with this. I find myself in a similar situation - nothing serious, just the effects of a few undisciplined months. I'm very keen to see how things go with this.

Hi Scott, good to hear from you again. I have a new post that I'll be putting up by tomorrow.
